“More Powerful Than a Locomotive” is an Alex Ross illustration created by Alex Ross for Superman: The Compete History: The Life and Times of the Man of Steel. Superman, the first, the strongest, and most enduringly popular super hero, has been captivating audiences around the world since his inception in Action Comics #1. Paying homage to the original 1938 cover and with impeccable detail, Ross reinterprets this iconic scene in his own distinctive style, converting it from day to night and transforming the comic illustrated Superman into the photorealistic Man of Steel. With every stroke of his brush, Ross brings to life the super hero who is “faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound!” The regular edition of 100 giclee on paper prints was created as a New York Comic Con release in 2024. Each numbered print measures 27.75"x16", is hand-signed by Alex Ross, and comes directly from the publisher.
